WHO ARE WE ?
Founded in 2000, the opera company Opéra Nomade is the child of a spiritual family: that of rigor in the choice of repertoire and quality in the production. Amaury du Closel, artistic director of Opéra Nomade, pursues a policy of encounters between opera and contemporary directors or choreographers. After having collaborated with Christian Schiaretti, Daniel Larrieu, he has been working for more than 10 years with director Pierre Thirion-Vallet, general and artistic director of Clermont-Auvergne Opéra.
The Opéra Nomade company has one ambition: to bring works to the public in the same way that caravans used to transport rare products, in order to help them discover or rediscover that opera is a live performing art where emotion takes its source from the most charismatic instrument: the voice. Approaching the great Mozart, Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti, Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky, Pélléas et Mélisande by Debussy or Madame Butterfly by Puccini, its productions have been welcomed on many French stages. Created in collaboration with Clermont-Auvergne Opera in 2021, Lucia di Lammermoor and The Marriage of Figaro are the works presented during the 2021/22 season in many French theaters.
Since 2010, based on its privileged relationship with Clermont-Auvergne Opera, Opéra Nomade has adopted a season policy, presenting one new production every year as well as the revival of two previous productions. In January 2018, Opera Nomade, which had been working for numerous years with guest orchestras, decided to form its own fifty piece ensemble: the Orchestre Les Métamorphoses, the task of which is not only to accompany the company’s production, but that has also developed its own series of concerts, performing works from the classical repertoire up to composers of the twentieth century.
